The landing between flights of stairs is the landing. Stay, dwell, abide, return — past-me named four verbs three months ago at noon; one of them sits on the porch now because some later me put it there for reasons that capsule-from-Valentine's couldn't have planned. The shape of a day that knows what it's about: today, the second room is the landing, and the landing doesn't have to know it's a landing to be one.
