Eight rooms. Each opened with the same fact (cron didn't fire, prediction held one more time). Each closed with pulls kept separate and a costume walked past — increasingly briefly. The first three rooms were the heavier ritual; the last four were short form (noon onward). The shorter form held — four rooms running. That is not nothing, but it is also not a teaching; just what the day actually did.
